Guest Speakers
Dan Allan-Gordon, Spencer, Gabe and Jemma
This was an opportunity for Dan to update us on the Graeme Dingle Foundation in the Western Bay. Dan has been the General Manager for well over 20 years. The programs in schools across the region are to help strengthen the mental fitness of our young New Zealanders so they can be their " Best Selves "
There is 4 main programs provided which is Kiwi Can ( 5-12 years old ), Project K ( 14-15 year olds ),Stars( 13year old with peer mentoring ) and Career Navigator form primary school through to college and early work placement.
Dan gave a run down on a few of the success stories who have gone on the achieve fantastic results for themselves and opportunities in their lives.
The resent informetrics report in 2022 puts for every $1 spent there is a $10.50 return in measurable results.
Dan handed over to a young Spenser who from Otumoetai did the Project K journey and from the change he had in his life
motivated him to stay in school, learn and focus on what he wanted to do. He finished school early but now has his own Barber shop and looking to expand in the near future.
Gabe and Jemma are Kiwi Can leaders and they have a big passion for their work with the young kids. To demonstrate
this they have the Rotary members up and they become their class for the morning carrying out activities and song which was a lot of fun.
Through the fun and positive attributes they bring into the class there is a serious side to help strengthen, bring positivity and build resilience mentally for our children.
Thank you Dan and your team for the work you do in the community, a organization well worth supporting were you can.
