Committee Updates:

Director Club Services & Membership - Dean Thompson
Good line up of speakers, although new speakers may have to wait as booked two months in advance. Committee members have been assigned responsibilities – Rhonda – Fellowship, Mary – Club Welfare, Dean – Speakers, Jim – Roster Duties, Henry – Movie night and Gin night.
Open day expo was also successful, so would be good to review and do again.
Discussion to be organized around Treasured Art for next year, and the club project list is being drawn up.

Director International Service - Glenis
Glenis started by showing us her very fine ‘quilt’ that is to be raffled off for ‘Threads Across the Pacific”. The committee are also involved in The Vanuatu School Library program & clothing.
We learnt that ROMAC stands for Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children, which organise specialist medical treatment in NZ and Australia. A young girl from Tonga may go to Canberra for her treatment.
Finally the committee also organise the fund raiser ‘Guess who is coming for dinner” which goes towards Shelterbox.

Director New Generations – Indeevar Duhan
The Committee are trying to restart the year for their many youth programs.
These include Interact, - who are trying to bring in Papamoa High to the fold.
The RYPEN Camp is now booked for the 17th-19th March. RYLA is looking for nominations and the committee has applied for a $4K grant for Outward Bound.
Sanjana is also working to develop a social media strategy.

Director Environment Committee - Michele Beaton/John Carlson
The committee has engaged a superb sign writer (aka John) to fix the Sea Socks sign. There have been lots of successful events with Students for the environment, Buddy’s planting day and on the 9th July there will be the K-Valley planting day.
Talk to Wayne for the list.
Also the K Valley bait lines have been well feed by the rodents and bait has been replenished.

Director Community Service - Shiv Thammalla
Short on time, so Shiv updated us on the Shorts 4 Hospice Appeal and recommended to wear shorts on the 8th July.

Kathy – Changeover reminder – If you could please pay for your drinks for Changeover lunch if you haven’t already.
