Fund earning oportunity - $6,000
A number of people have said they are way that weekend, but do keep in mind that you meet the students early evening. Michele is desperately short of hosts at this time.
The club again has the opportunity to host students from Hong Kong in April. Hosts are needed for two nights (during the day the students are away so no need to entertain them). Each student is charged $100m per night and these funds will come to our club, potentially earning us around $6,000. We have done this at least twice before and it is an easy way to earn money. Guest Speaker – Our own Simon Beaton had volunteered to speak about his part in Saddam Hussein’s downfall. What it was really about was their time spent in Cyprus, a major logistics hub during the Gulf Wars and technically within the war zone. Living with a range of people from Cypriots, Brits, Americans, Arabs and multiple other races plus others who were there for the so called 'olive harvest'. Amid the war tensions they managed to have numerous activities from wind surfing, using an RAF attack boat for sunbathing. Being in Cyprus during the First Gulf War meant that many received medals, but not Simon, depsite bravely windurfing in the war zone throughout the entire campaign. However, looking back Cyprus was a great place to live.

Andy mused that being a grandfather means you also need to be a role model. There are numerous examples of when life goes wrong in that mode eg the “f###ing goat” problem (see Andy for more info). He then moved on to talking about the development of language. Apparently there are hundreds of sign languages and verbal languages. The original accelerator from sign language to verbal language development was self preservation; it’s very difficult to protect yourself with a spear and use sign language at the same time.
