Guest Speaker – Einstein Hale
Einstein was introduced by Simon Beaton
 
Einstein hales from America and is now a Senior Gender Counsellor in the historic village at Gender Dynamics Aotearoa, and is more commonly known as the Village People! Einstein has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Education. They have more than 10 years of experience working in acute psychiatric hospitals, substance abuse services, outpatient group programs, educational programming, hospice caregiving, and mental health private practice. They have lectured on LGBTQI+ mental health care, culture, and sensitives for various Universities and agencies, including Yale School of Psychiatry.
 
Einstein gave the club a 101 on Trans gender and inclusive workplaces. They then went on to giving an explanation of the different types of gender and how much of a population they make up in our communities. Working with workplaces to make them more inclusive so that they don’t loss staff, customers, and reputation. The use of gender pronouns was also explained.
 
Glenn Dougal thanked Einstein for his presentation and meeting his dream of being taught by Einstein one day!

Pat Taylor – Club’s 25th Anniversary Dinner is to be held on the 21st May, RSVP’s to Pat Taylor, and there is no meeting on that Friday morning. Further detail below

Michele Beaton – Michele reminded members that there is an Environmental event on 15th May an Aongatete Forest Park
 
Henry – Movie Night - Come to the premier of Top Gun on the 25th May, book this in your Diary
 
Rhonda – Thanked members for all their warm clothing for the Vanuatu workers, who come from the same region as our Thread Across the Pacific.
 
Barbara Whitton –  It was Barbara’s last day at the club as she is moving towns – we wish you well on your next adventures!

Warren would like us to bring back the old Courtesy’s. So write a letter to an old friend, be punctual, RSVP to invites, and get to know your neighbours. Always welcome and acknowledge each other, there’s nothing like a friendly smile and a good handshake.
