Welcome–from President
Michele Beaton welcomed us for our committee session where each committee set a calendarised schedule of events for the coming year to give the incoming president Indeevar Duhan an overview.

FYI:
No environmental FYI session this week, however Barry Fredheim regaled us with a humorous story of how his daughter recently had a child at home, named Francie Freddy McPherson.  He said they were lucky there were drop sheets on the floor ready for painting…

Guest Speaker –
No guest speaker this week as it is a committee session this week.

Rotary Tauranga Sunrise New Website
Lisa Phillips gave an overview of our new website that she has been working on.  It is a mixture of information about the club to attract new members as well as practical information for current members about upcoming events, social media and administration.
New website address to be shared soon.

Environmental Committee – The committee shared positive feedback about rat trapping / baiting around Tauranga that has had a positive impact on surrounding homes and gardens as noticed by residents.

NZ Garden Bird Survey
29 June -7 July.   The idea of this survey is to count the birds in your garden over a 1 hour period and share the information to build a picture of the health of bird life in NZ.  Further details on how to participate can be found at:  Home | New Zealand Garden Bird Survey

Rosalie Liddle Crawford presented an interesting overview of Autumn Achievers, people achieving great things after the age of 65.  She spoke about people such as Grandma Moses; Nelson Mandela; Laura Wilder; and Buddy Mikaere.

Raffle: The vino was won by Andrew Knowles

Parting Thought from : Dave McDonald
“Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards.”
19th-century Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard.

Note"
New Rotary Tauranga Sunrise website
On Friday, Lisa took us through the new website for our club. This will be used to encourage people to join, by seeing what we do, and the fun we have.
Please note: Clubrunner will still be used as it is today, so with our existing website, we'll be putting up a notice on the homepage directing people to our new website (and slowly take the existing one down).
(Existing website for those of you that didn't know we had one: https://www.rotarytaurangaam.club/)
Lisa is happy for any feedback (good and bad). Pat Taylor features heavily in our photos, as he provided a lot of them, so if you have any photos you'd like uploaded (or if there are ones you'd like removed), please let us know. Rosalie is going to provide some news stories of our members to add. Lisa and Kathy will be across updating this new website. If you'd also like to get involved, please let them know.
From Lisa: Thanks to the club for all the support and apologies it's taken a long time to get here! Please send feedback to me at kiwilis@gmail.com
