Please note this is through my eyes on the day.

This bulletin is a follow on from our Changeover  afternoon at the Tauranga Harbourside.

After a rushed drive from Papamoa thinking a 11-30am kick off would be plenty of time for sound setup and check.   Not to be, with slow traffic flows arrived at 11.35 to find everyone were early  catching up over a drink before Changeover starts.
Quickly setup and did sound checks while following parts of the conversation about the final program structure with the MC ( Steve ) and main organiser Kathy.  This was in relation to a little surprise for Lynda.
All of a sudden, it’s find your seat and let the proceedings begin.  As per standard Sunrise proceedings there was not going to be a long formal part to the changeover which will allow later  for discussions, catch-ups and the odd wine or beer to lubricate the vocal cords.
Lunch was ordered from the great selection provided and food was the next key element to be had.
Next Chris Dever started the formal part of the event with his Presidents report on the year gone with the theme of, even though CoVid had done damage and interrupted the Club in 21-22 we stepped up and keep our core values in tack and came through stronger for it.
A Paul Harris Fellow was given to a well-deserved club member who not only worked quietly in the background but has a long-time presence in the Community.  Congratulations to Dr Neil Matson. Neil replied that he had a PHF badge but this was given by another club a few years ago and this one was special as it come from the Sunrise Club.
The chain of command was handed over to Lynda (A bit hurriedly I must say) and Chris receives his past Presidents badge.
Next Kathy and her singing group kicked of with a re- written version of Linda from Jan & Dean

Try it out, it’s not too bad.  The rendition from the group was fun filled but not quite in tune even with background music.

After this Lynda gave her ideas and report for 22-23 year and the Rotary theme then introduced the Directors. I think it going to be an interesting year filled with Lynda’s big smiles.
Now that Covid is a little bit in the background and a since of normally is prevailing bring on a busy year, filled with projects, people and community.
Then it was back to food, drink and conversations.
This may not have flowed as described but after a few days with a birthday in the middle the recollection is a bit mixed.  Anyway it was a wonderful relaxed afternoon, excellent meal, with great friends.

We kick off the Rotary new year on July 1st with Committee meetings and check the
